Are you ready to deepen your relationship to the music? If so, this is the right class for you! This dunun class will begin Monday, 10/27 and will be offered at a private residence. We will cover stick and bell technique and some of the fundamental rhythmic structures we encounter in traditional West African rhythms. Interested? Contact Dee for more information.
The next 6-week West African Drumming series at Namaqua UU in Loveland begins next week!
- Mondays from 11:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m. in the Sanctuary
- Dates: 10/13, 10/20, 10/27, 11/3, 11/10, & 11/17
Learn and play all parts of a traditional rhythm, including djembe accompaniments, the break, & traditional dunun parts.
Instruction will be differentiated, so if you are a more experienced drummer, you can learn solo phrases and get practice leading the group and playing the echauffement. There's something for everyone!
Don't own a drum? No problem! Drums are available for in-class use.
For this class, need-based scholarships are available. Email Dee at nocodrumclub@gmail.com for more information. To register, click HERE
