Bolokada Conde: Friday-Only Drumming Option
If you are a beginner student, or do not think you are ready for an entire weekend workshop, this option is for you.

Bolokada Conde Weekend Workshop Package
This package includes 12 hours of drumming instruction on Friday evening, Saturday, and Sunday morning.

- Sunday, June 7, 2026 from 9:00 a.m.- 12:00 p.m.

Djeneba Sako Dance Class
Following Bolokada’s drumming workshop on Saturday, Djeneba Sako will offer her signature dance class, known for its joyful energy and accessibility for beginners. Details are as follows:

Time: 5:00 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.
Fee: $25
Djeneba Sako Dun Dance/Percussive Dance Class
If Dun Dance/Percussive Dance is new to you, each student plays a single dunun upright, using two sticks to create rhythm on the drumhead and rim while stepping and moving together in coordinated group patterns. Dunun are available for use during this class.

Play djembe/dunun for Dun Dance Class
Concurrent with Djeneba’s dunun dance class, Bolokada will teach the traditional djembe and dunun music that supports and accompanies the dancers as they learn the percussive movement of the form. Please note: participating in the djembe/dunun portion requires playing at dance-class speed, which is typically quite fast. This class is recommended for drummers who are accustomed to playing for dance classes.
