Intermediate West African Drumming Class
Are you ready to deepen your understanding of traditional West African rhythms—not only learning the dunun melodies and djembe accompaniments, but also solo phrases, songs, and full arrangements? If so, this class is for you.
This weekly class is held at a private residence in Midtown Fort Collins. Our next 6-week series will begin on Tuesday, May 5th. Participants are expected to commit to regular at-home practice each week and space is limited to 10 participants.

Monday: Dunun - Loveland
Are you ready to deepen your relationship with the music? If so, this is the right class for you! This ongoing dunun class is held at a private residence, where we focus on stick and bell technique as well as the fundamental rhythmic structures found in traditional West African rhythms.
Requirements for joining this class include a commitment to weekly at-home practice.

Monday: All Levels Drumming - Loveland
The next West African Drumming series at Namaqua UU in Loveland begins Monday, May 4th.
- Mondays from 11:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m. in the Sanctuary
- Upcoming Dates: 05/04, 05/11. 05/18, (skip Memorial Day), 06/01, & 06/08
Learn and play all parts of a traditional rhythm, including djembe accompaniments, the break, & traditional dunun parts.
Instruction will be differentiated, so if you are a more experienced drummer, you can learn solo phrases and get practice leading the group and playing the echauffement. There's something for everyone!
Don't own a drum? No problem! Drums are available for in-class use.
