Dee Desnoyers brings decades of musical experience and a deep passion for African diasporic music and percussion. A lifelong musician, her percussion journey began with steel drums and continued through intensive study of traditional West African drumming, including a 2026 study tour to Guinea, West Africa. As a recipient of the City of Fort Collins, Colorado Artist Opportunity Grant, Dee will continue her intensive study of traditional drum, dance and culture in Guinea in January 2027.
In 2020, driven by curiosity about the evolution of traditional rhythms into contemporary styles, Dee began playing drum kit. Her love of musical theatre grew from its highly collaborative nature and the opportunity each production provides to explore a wide range of musical styles and genres.
Dee is also a Lead Facilitator with Sewa Beats USA, where she uses experiential drumming programs for events and corporate training focused on workplace belonging, keynotes, team building, change management, and leadership development. As a seasoned psychotherapist, Dee brings exceptional interpersonal skills, a collaborative spirit, and an ease of working with people to every project.
Something unique that Dee brings to musical theatre productions is her ability to provide consultation on the psychological development of characters and on the portrayal of psychotherapy.
