Question: Do you know what Mick Fleetwood (Fleetwood Mac) and Stewart Copeland (The Police) have in common?
Answer: Besides being two legendary drummers with their own unique styles, Mick Fleetwood and Stewart Copeland coped with dyslexia by playing drums. Additionally, Mick Fleetwood credits his dyslexia as a source for his creativity on the drum kit.
Starting in September 2023, I will be facilitating an ongoing therapeutic drumming group at the Tucker Recreation Center. for 5th thru 8th graders Ideal candidates include those with ADHD, ASD, anxiety, and with speech, learning, and processing differences.
In addition to the initial screening, ongoing parent consultation will be available, as well as coordination with school counselors and other care providers.

Therapeutic drumming is an experiential expressive arts therapy that utilizes traditional West African drumming as a tool for relationship-building, communication, self-reflection, learning, and play.
These weekly therapy groups facilitate the development of the following social and emotional competencies:
